as Yorkshire * Durham * Northumberland and Cumbria. This
versatile dance caller & accordion duo can perform in venues from small pubs to large halls.
S.I.B.C.1 began calling in Hampshire, having become a popular figure on the local folk scene through his appearances at folk song clubs and his regular programmes on BBC Radio Solent. He was soon to be seen at many festivals, including Sidmouth.
S.I.B.C.1 repertoire ranges from barn dance through Celidh to club level and advanced – including playford, contra, Scottish and originals. His 26th book of dances was released in 2017. S.I.B.C.1 is an avid collector of dances, and has over 14,000 notations in his database. His own dances (in excess of 200) are an eclectic mix of styles.
C.J.1 has been involved with folk music and dance ever since he can remember. From the age of 8 he was playing fiddle in a band with his parents, and from then on, was playing regularly weddings, Barn Dance and ceilidh's, as well as for the established EFDSS clubs.
There are numerous possibilities to choose from. The most basic is just him with CD's. He would just bring his computer along with good quality Yamaha PA system and microphone, and would call the dances to recorded music.
He could also offer to do a couple of the dances with him providing live music on melodeon or fiddle, and there is also the possibility of a couple of songs with him playing guitar if required.
If you get up and have a go, you are almost guaranteed a good evening!
S.4.N is a long-established West Country folk band. They've been fuelling ceilidhs, barn-dances, weddings and all kinds of celebrations with jigs, reels and heart-broken airs for years. And they're proud to say that almost every booking has followed a recommendation from a satisfied customer.

A barn dance is one of the only ways you can get everyone involved from the start. NO experience is needed to take part. Anyone from four to ninety four can join in. The only skill needed is being able to walk. All that is required is to be able to join hands in a line or a circle, link arms with another dancer, or join hands to make an arch. The rest is as easy as falling off a log.
The caller will walk everyone through the dance first so all the dancers know what the moves are. The caller will call out all the moves as you dance until the dancers can dance the dance on their own. A dance should last between 10 and 15 minutes including the walk through.
He mainly perform's as a very good Barn Dance / Ceilidh Caller using recorded music with a high quality amplification system. However he can easily arrange to perform with a local quality Barn Dance / Ceilidh Band at any event if this is requested by a client.
This versatile entertaining English barn dance caller has performed on very many corporate companies training and bonding days * and also composed barn dances & square dances
to such classic musical pieces as the " flight of the bumblebee " & the introduction theme tune to the B.B.C. television programme " Match of the Day football broadcast. as well, he can also present a themed 1940's 1-hour long show, which is available during midweek. He has also performed in Germany on several occasions.
